On 11-13 April, the Lithuanian Jazz Union (LJU) represents the country's jazz musicians, performers and community at the world's largest and most important jazz fair, jazzahead! in Bremen (Germany).
This year, the Lithuanian delegation includes a record number of participants - as many as 11 performers and members of the Lithuanian jazz industry:
LJU President and Artistic Director of Jazz Cellar 11 Dmitrij Golovanov, LDF Board Chair and JJAZZ Ensemble Manager Dorotėja Būdaitė, LDF Board members and saxophonists Karolis Šarkus and Tadas Pasaravičius, and young generation drummer Dovydas Šulskis, jazz singers Veronika ChiChi and Viktorija Pilatovič, trombonist Jievaras Jasinskis, pianist Agnė Pasaravičienė, and the young generation of trumpet players Apolinaras Dubauskas and saxophonist Davit Avetisyan.
For the first time, the Lithuanian delegation joined forces for a joint stand with the Latvian Music Information Centre and Music Estonia.
On 12 April at 14:00, an official "Baltic Happy Hour" reception will take place at the stand of the three Baltic States.
The participation of the Lithuanian Jazz Union in jazzhead! is financed by the Lithuanian Council for Culture. The project is also supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Germany and the Pakruojo Dvaras spirits distillery, which has provided refreshments for the Lithuanian reception at the stand, which will take place on 12 April at 14:00.
