Karolis Šarkus

Karolis Šarkus represents the younger generation of Lithuanian jazz. He started his musical journey
in Balys Dvarionas music school and continued with acquiring bachelor’s and master’s degrees
abroad, at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. For a while Karolis also studied with the legendary
saxophonist Dick Oatts in Philadelphia (USA). Artist performed in multiple countries around
Europe, won some international competitions of which the latest is one of the important Italian jazz
competitions “Premio Internazionale Massimo Urbani”. Karolis actively writes and arranges music –
last year he released his debut record “Palette of Feelings” which was warmly welcomed by jazz
lovers and critics. Together with Donatas Petreikis he started an authentic traditional jazz group
Collaborative Jazz Septet.
