CASTOR STETSON

Castor Stetson – is a professional band led by guitarist/composer Deimantas Balys. The band is only performing their own original tunes which is a blend of different music styles with a strong jazz music fundamentals. The band is constantly changing their repertoire by adding more experimental ideas in to music. This project already played in the biggest Lithuanian jazz festivals like Vilnius Mama Jazz, Vilnius Jazz, Elektrėnai Jazz, Ariogala Jazz, Šiauliai Jazz and others. The band also performed in foreign jazz festivals like Freedom Jazz Festival (Poland)and Saeby jazz festival (Denmark). In 2018 Castor Stetson won the grand prix prize in Vilnius Jazz Young Power contest as a best new jazz band in Lithuania. In 2019 the band had their best year yet: the release of their debut album “Captured Music” and two tours in Baltic states. After a couple of tours Castor Stetson made a live video called “Illuminate” and started collaborating with international jazz Youtube channel called – Jazz3+, to publish their live concert performance from Elektrėnai jazz festival in 2020. Currently Castor Stetson is in the process of releasing their mini album “Homemade Wreck” which they recorded themselves in their own studio. Also the band is planning of releasing their second LP called “Moksha” in vinyl. In the near future the band is planning more performances abroad.
