Simona Smirnova is a singer and Lithuanian folk instrument "kanklės" player who blends elements of jazz and folk music in her work.
After studying in Lithuania and at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Simona was employed by the Berklee faculty outreach program, where she worked on the development and evaluation of school music programs. In 2018, Simona relocated to New York, where she currently resides.
Simona has released four albums of her own work as well as a book of kanklės sheet music titled "Kanklės in New York."
In December of last year, Simona was nominated for the Global Lithuania Awards for her promotion of kanklės music worldwide.
