LJU is heading to the jazzahead! jazz fair 2026

Next week, the Lithuanian Jazz Union is heading to the jazzahead! fair in Germany!

jazzahead! is Europe’s leading international jazz networking event, attracting approximately 3,300 delegates from 66 countries around the world each year, representing various sectors of the industry: musicians, event organizers, record labels, agencies, festivals, and more. and attracts approximately 25,000 visitors. Since its very first edition in 2006, jazzahead! has grown into a major cultural event that, in addition to the four-day trade fair, also includes a cultural festival in Bremen and the surrounding region. The international music fair, which includes an integrated showcase festival, focuses primarily on jazz, while the Bremen festival is aimed at a broader audience.

The Lithuanian Jazz Union, which promotes jazz music and jazz culture in our country, is a regular participant in jazzahead! This year, a delegation of 12 jazz musicians, professionals, and representatives of the jazz community will travel to the fair:

• Dmitrij Golovanov – pianist, educator, program director of the “Jazz Cellar 11” club, and president of the Lithuanian Jazz Union.

• Dorotėja Būdaitė – Executive Director of the Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble, Project Manager for the “Arts and Science” program at Vilnius College, and Chair of the Board of the Lithuanian Jazz Union.

• Tadas Pasaravičius – saxophonist, creative strategist, organizer of the Jazz Craft Summer Camp, and member of the board of the Lithuanian Jazz Union.

• Dovydas Šulskis – drummer, member of the board of the Lithuanian Jazz Union.

• Karolis Šarkus – saxophonist, composer, arranger, member of the board of the Lithuanian Jazz Union, lecturer at Vilnius College, and teacher at the B. Dvarionas Music School in Vilnius.

• Veronika ChiChi – jazz singer, composer, and lecturer at Vilnius College.

• Jievaras Jasinskis – composer, arranger, trombonist, and artistic director of the Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble.

• Lukrecija Penkauskaitė – singer and composer, social media manager for the Lithuanian Jazz Union.

• Donatas Petreikis – saxophonist, composer, arranger.

• Ieva Pakalniškytė – music critic, jazz music researcher, and cultural communications expert.

• Viktorija Pilatovic – jazz singer, composer, artist signed to the labels “PKmusik” and “Inner Circle Music,” and instructor at Berklee and Musikene.

• Laima Slepkovaitė – jazz critic and host of LRT Radio programs, member of the Euroradio jazz community.
